BOTH PHOTOS FROM DALLAS I TOOK The anticipation was a nerve breaking one for both shows I attended LoL. The crowd for both shows were awesome and 2 years can be a a while for some of us, especially for us hard core fans. My wife couldn't be there with me for the Dallas show instead my aunt took her spot. Funny thing what my aunt said after the show in Dallas. She is familiar with some Maiden tunes thanks to my uncle who kept blasting it while both of them were living at my grandmas and grandpa's home. She said, " I still can't believe after all these years Maiden still have a large fan base".
The Dallas show was her first show ever and she said would
definitely see them again...SWEET!!!
On with both shows:
Dallas- opening night of course it was electric and Dream Theater kicked ass.The first merch booth I saw I bought most of the tour shirts there. The crowd wasn't very frenzy so I bought as much as I could..Maiden did the right choice of having them open. I never been much of a fan but after seeing them twice I became a instant fan. People were still showing up after they played, therefore more and more fans were filling in the seats. Doctor Doctor started to play over the P.A. system and the crowd were going nuts. It was only a matter of time that Maiden was going to blow up the roof and they did with THE WICKER MAN. I couldn't help noticing that after of couple of songs into the set they were having some technical problems. At times Bruce was missing his cues on some of the songs but got right back onto track. Towards the end they did their vows and were very pleased with the crowd attendance according to Bruce.
I love Dallas but I'm sorry the venue (SUPERPAGES.COM) sucked not a very good venue IMOP. If Maiden goes back and plays there, I'll be there ones again...
San Antonio- That show was awesome and fun actually. My wife went with me to that one and I couldn't be more happier having her next to me. Love you LOVE. I once again I raced on over to the Merchandise booth and waited for a good while. I finished buying my Maiden stuff. LOL. After wards my wife and I headed towards our seats and Dream was playing and I was thrashing all about.. They even sounded better I think than in Dallas. They rocked, I hope they do another tour with Maiden. We weren't at the beach obviously but they crowd there decided to entertain themselves by throwing a couple of beach balls around. LOL that was fun while waiting for Maiden to perform. DOCTOR DOCTOR by U.F.O started playing over the P.A. and the crowd went nuts. We had good seats for that show as well and the sound quality was great. By the time Maiden played in San Antone prior to the Houston show (in which I couldn't go to) they kinda of change the setlist. Leaving Brighter than a thousand suns out for Wrathchild and one more other which I'll edit later. The show was a SELL OUT.....According to Bruce was so amazed and happy that the crowd attendance doubled since the last time in '08.
The band looked very happy to be there indoors..LOL.. The Texas heat can be real bitch..especially in the summer time..Bruce ranted for awhile about the very first time Maiden played there and talked also about English football...The show was phenomenal and according to Bruce they said that they will come back again.
I will post the setlist for both shows sometime this week....
