When some people hear the word "meditation," the image of a acid-burnt hippie sitting cross-legged on the floor humming "ooooommmmmm" pops into mind. That's not necissarily true. Meditation is simply clearing your mind and letting stress flow out of your body and can greatly increase your mood through daily practice.
Give it a try sometime. Get some alone time and relax[play some soothing music, light a few candles, just do whatever you need to do. Close you eyes and start thinking of all the bad things that are happening in your life(don't stop reading yet, I'm going somewhere). Don't worry about how to solve them, just acknowledge them and accept that they are happening. Afterwards, begin thinking of all the positives in your life. Think about how good your life is and about the ones you love and who love you.
You'll end up feeling refreshed and happy, which is great, especially after a stressful day. This is just a simple variation of meditation than can improve your view on life and make you a happier person. You'll be amazed how much of an impact your mood can have on life. I'm not asking you to clear your mind, just to try and relax for a few minutes a day. Just try it.
