- thrash, speed metal, any metal as long as it doesn't blow.

- black sabbath, the NWOBHM and the classic american thrash bands that resulted from that (slayer, early metallica, anthrax, megadeth, testament, etc.) the NWOAHM (lamb of god, unearth, hatebreed, etc.) aspects of the NYHC movement, meshuggah, pantera, kurt cobain, john lennon, alice in chains, jimi hendrix, bob marley and certain aspects of rasta ideology, bill hicks, noam chomsky, naomi klein, psilocybin mushrooms, cannabis, george orwell, aldous huxley, kurt vonnegut, howard zinn's "a people's history of the united states 1492-present", observations of a society experiencing disturbing new depths of anti-intellectualism, a culture of fear and a culture of death.
in the rare moments that the individual band members are not fomenting mind revolution and evolution, they enjoy pistachio ice cream and nectarines. jim and kenny have been clean and sober from world of warcraft for six months. well, it's really nick that likes the nectarines. and earl who likes the pistachio ice cream. even though it's just almond flavored ice cream with green shit in it. but we don't judge. neither should you.
