- It's really not as bad as people make it out to be. It's hot and dry as hell. Where I am, not too many people trying to kill us. Kinda like west Texas. Without booze, without our family...that part is difficult. Especially for an Irish drunk. Alas, I take my shots of robitussin or formula 44 and think of better days...

- Hi there! How is life treating you? I hadn't stopped in for a while, so I figured I would see how life in the writing world is going. I had been under the assumption thrash/metal and gore would be a suitable soundtrack for a deployment, but the longer I am here the more I am convinced it's more along the lines of John Lee Hooker and Charlie Parker, Coultrane, and a lot of BB Kings early stuff (while he was still really pissed). Funny how certain situations evoke different musical responses and demands from the mind. Have a good one.
