raginpit - noun, pronunciation: 'rAj[n] 'pit 1 : an area in front of a stage where uninhibited, violent, wild, often frenzied activities (as intentional collision) with others take place 2 : name of the most extraordinary webzine and internet community known to the underground metal world!

I had a love for the saxophone for about ten years in school, but never pursued anything professionally. Regardless, I could never let the music go. I found myself contributing to local bands by helping with myspace pages, taking pictures, and re-writing band biographies. I also worked on event staff and ran security for multiple local and national shows, predominantly rock and metal. After twelve years of living in Arizona, I went home to Northern California. While there I was presented with an opportunity to be more involved with local bands wanting to become more serious about their music. In 2007 I was introduced to a local webzine active in the community. I found that the webzine had great stories, but the presentation on the site was amateur at best. I took a bold step and told the owner I could make it better. His reply, "Prove it." I've been Editor-in-Chief for Raginpit Magazine ever since.

About Raginpit

Since our establishment in 2004, our goal here at Raginpit Magazine was to bring you news about local metal bands throughout the world's underground scene.

While we still strive to bring every show to you through our articles, to provide you with the information needed to decide whether or not any media item or performance is worthy of merit, and to bring you closer to the bands that annihilate house after house with our in depth interviews, Raginpit has come to the realization that bands are just a part of the bigger picture, which is the music. There are many pieces that bring together the music as a whole and Raginpit recognizes the need to help make these pieces fit.

We believe that everyone, regardless of stature, in the metal music world is important so Raginpit Magazine has evolved into an underground Mecca where all members of the metal community can congregate, discuss issues, and cross promote, while still obtaining all of the latest news on a local, national, and international level.

We are a significant source of information and have been from the beginning. Our voice rings through the Metal world and we are providing to you a platform for your voice to be heard.

Raginpit Magazine is not interested in saving any particular scene, instead we are here to create our own...
