- It all started with Keith and Mark (guitar players). They knew one another in High School, and all throughout high school they were both known as the best guitar players around and friends and family always told them that they should play together. Well, as time went on, and they began to become closer and closer as friends they decided to give it a shot. When they did they never quit playing. Any where Mark went, Keith went, and where ever Keith went Mark was there, they where inseperable. They played with many diffrent people in many diffrent bands but could never find the brotherhood of 3 others that they so desperatly needed.
While they where searching, Brett, Derek (Brothers), and Jake were playing in a band with one another and a couple of other guys, and it was going down hill. Brett was playing Bass, Jake on guitar and Derek on Drums, plus the other guys. Well that band failed, and Derek and Brett decided to go play for another band. Except for a change... Brett was going to sing now. And of course it worked out fine and this new band (Awaken) was together for and few months and broke up because of creaative diffrences.
Well Mark and Keith were still searching for the 3 they needed. When Awaken broke up, Derek and Brett decided to go and try out for Mark and Keith who then had a Bass player. It was very nerve racking for Derek and Brett because of the level Mark and Keith are on. Well the first song that they played together was "Cowboys From Hell" (Pantera). When the song was over they all knew that this was going to be perfect... and it still is to this day.
You may still ask yourself about Jake, well you see, Jake joined Low Down about a year after the band was established as the new bass player and people did not think it would work but they were wrong. Unfortunatly in the end Jake had to leave for personal reasons that we all understood. He is still like a brother to us and we will miss him. Thank you for playing with us Jake!
Unfortunatley we have gone through another bass player and on the look out for another one. Cody Haygood quit for reasons only understood by himself and the band was fortunate enough to play with him for the two years that they did and still out of the three, he was the most talented, outgoing , and a best performer out of all the bassists.
Low Down is still rolling strong although there has been changes. It never rocks us though, it only makes us stronger! Come see us play live and we can guarentee you will not be disapointed!
