Well...the Carcass I like the most is way more death than grind. Jeff's voice isnt grindcore at all. I consider them death..at least in Necroticism and Heartwork..the 2 masterpieces.

I agree Carcass is pure, unadulterated Death Metal. I listen to some grind and death-grind and Carcass don't sound it from what I've heard.

Tough choices there are so many talented death metal bands.
Nile (Technical/Brutal Death)
Kataklysm
Amon Amarth (Viking Death)

I don't really listen to many straight Death Metal bands, its always a blend of melodic, brutal or grind really. I listen to Carcass and Death every now and then, but not majorly. Pig Destroyer is a killer Death-Grind band btw, check them out if your into grind.

CANNiBAL CORPSE, OBITUARY AND CARCASS...I HAVE BEEN GETTING INTO DEATH METAL JUST RECENTLY...THE PAST 2-3 YEARS....SO THESE ARE THE BANDS THAT I LOVE THE MOSTTTTT IN DEATH METAL!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS...LET ME KNOW....

most of the death metal i would normally listen to is probably death grind, to be completely honest death metal is the one genre that i never figured out, obviously characterized by the deep growling vocals, however as far as the music goes... i'm not to sure what determines whether a band is death, or a variation either of grindcore, or even some of the more melodic bands that iId sooner call a more doomy black metal if it weren't for the vocals that in mind I'll give you my favorite bands featuring death metal voc's and if you don't like it that sucks don't it ... you can tell Holly, there, I'm sure if you ask her nice she'll spank me for ya (joking!!!)

Brodequin (if you're going to argue one it BETTER be this one... because even i can tell that its esentially a grind band with death vocals)
