It was actually Pantera playing a Metallica cover Seek And Destroy (with Dime on vocals).

I'm pretty sure it was Cowboys From Hell, but it might of been Walk. Which ever it was made me a Pantera fan imediately

The first Pantera song I ever heard was Cemetary Gates from their Cowboys from Hell album, I bought it on cassette, before cd's hit big.

First Pantera song I ever heard was Cowboys From Hell. I was diggin' through my dad's CD's when I was like 10 and came accross that album. Needless to say he hadn't listened to it in forever (it was covered in dust). The name of it sounded bad ass. I popped the CD in and listened to it the whole way through. It was flawless... That same day I dug some more and found Vulgar Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven... Since then I've been hooked and have bought The Great Southern Trendkill, Reinventing the Steel and Live 101 Proof. But I was so far beyond depressed only 3 years later at Dime's death... Never would I see Pantera re-unite and my dreams were crushed forever to see them live in concert from the middle of a mosh pit...

Walk. I fell in love with Pantera the second I heard Dime's riff and got hooked the second I heard Anselmo belt out the first line.

Mouth for War - I'd heard that they were about to support Megadeth on the UK tour so I picked up a Vulgar Display of Power - wow, It was amazing, I just sat and listened to the whole album. I went back the week after to try and get hold of Cowboys from Hell - at the gig both bands were totally awesome but I came home with a Pantera shirt!

Megadeth kicks ass, but I think Pantera just blew them to hell, much like Kiss did back when they were an opening act. Personally, I'm almost offended that Pantera ever opened up for Megadeth. Both are great bands, but Pantera is just so hardcore that it's insane for them to be an opening act. It just sounds so... Wrong.

For me it was Cowboys From Hell, I got the CD, And I just heard that opening riff for the first time, chugga chugga chugga... with the flange and then the song kicks in... It was like a boot to the face. I get goosebumps everytime I hear it.

I think the first was Death Trap back in the late 80's is the first I remember hearing. I had an older cousin that listened to Pantera and I've been hooked ever since. "If I was god you'd sell your soul to the Great!!!! Southern!!!! Trendkill!!!!!!!!!!"

This love was the first song I ever heard from them when it came out. Directly bought the vulgar display of power album and loved it ever since.
